Bumbo Fun!!!!

The Potter house is loving summer!! It seems like it is finally here!

Auntie Heather has returned safely back to Australia and things around our house have quieted down somewhat.

We have started to put Sari in the baby Bumbo and she seems to be really liking it. Her neck is getting stronger and stronger everyday, but isn't quite strong enough to sit in the Bumbo for long periods of time. She just loves sitting up, standing and pretty much being as independent as possible, and she loves the freedom that the Bumbo gives her.

Anyway, I have posted some pics below for you all to see. Sorry, there isn't a whole lot else to report. Maybe next week!

I Can't Believe The Two Weeks Is Almost Over...

Well, it's Thursday and the day after tomorrow Heather leaves for Winnipeg to catch her flight back to Australia on Sunday. The two weeks has gone by so quickly...we don't want it to end. We have had a fabulous time with Auntie Heather. Sari just loves her and lights up whenever Auntie enters the room! We have been busy visiting here in Brandon and spending time up at the lake. Sari likes the lake, but doesn't like the bugs...or is that her mother!! I don't have a whole lot to say, just that we have been having such a great two weeks.

Sari is growing like crazy and changing daily. She "talks" like crazy and has really learned to love her play time on the floor, kicking and trying so hard to roll over. She makes her daddy and I laugh every day. I think that she is going to have quite the funny bone like the rest of the Potters! I can't believe that she is going to be 3 months old on Saturday! Where has the time gone?! We love her more and more every day. How did we ever live without her?!

Welcome Home Auntie Heather!!!

Well, life at the Potter home has just been a flurry of excitement!! On Saturday we all welcomed my sister Heather home from Australia for a two week visit!! Way to short if you ask me! Ever since then life has been busy visiting and throwing parties...poor girl isn't getting the chance to get over jet-lag at all!

We celebrated Father's Day on Sunday over at my parents house. Heather got to hold Sari for the first time and I don't think put her down all day...well, except for when she cried and crapped her pants! Its so nice being the parent, we get to do all the dirty work! We had a wonderful time visiting with family. Last night Chris and I threw a party for Heather giving her a chance to see her friends and catch up. It was sooo much fun. I wish we had taken more pictures though. A good time was had by all...especially Uncle Spanky, (aka..Jason), he was starting 36 days of holidays and decided to celebrate! Sari really enjoyed her first party! I was really impressed with how well she did. Even with all the loud talking, laughing and doors slamming, (thank you Uncle Spanky!), she didn't wake up once! Who said you can't have loud parties and stay up late with kids?!! Chris and I were pretty tired this morning, but it was well worth it!

Sari is loving her Auntie Heather! I'm so glad that she was able to meet her Auntie before December. We love having Heather home and are not looking forward to her leaving again. Oh well, I guess that's the sacrifice that has to be made so that she can accomplish her dreams!

Hangin' Out With Friends...

Well, not a whole lot to report. We are loving the nice weather and getting out as much as we can to enjoy it!

I have started to go power walking with a friend of mine, Tannis, who had a baby 6 weeks before I did, to aid in the losing baby weight challenge. We try to go every day during the week and do approximately 4 miles each time. The dads so graciously volunteer to get together and look after the kids while we are out on our walk. I personally think it is just an excuse for them to get together, socialize, and have a beer after work...whatever works though! The last time we were there we snapped a few photos of the kids. I have posted a few for you all to enjoy.

Happy Two Month Birthday...Yesterday!!

Holy smokes does time ever fly!!

Yesterday was Sari's 2 month birthday. We didn't have a party or anything, we figured she was a little young for cake! I can't believe how quickly time is flying. Every day she becomes more and more aware of her surroundings, and LOVES to carry on conversations with her mom and dad. I imagine that she'll be a talker like her parents...poor kid didn't stand a chance!! :)

Today was Sari's first immunizations at the doctors. It broke my heart. I couldn't even watch, Chris had to hold her legs still. But, she was a brave little girl and hardly cried at all. She has been soaking it up all day though. I think she knows that I felt bad, and all day has refused to be put down. I am such a softy! Our little girl sure is getting big though. She weighed in at 14 lbs. 2.5 oz. and was measured at approximately 23.5 inches long. She has gained quite a bit of weight since being born but has only grown an inch. She is, however, in the 90th percentile for both weight and height for her age. No wonder she eats so much!!

Not much else to report in the Potter house. We are desperately awaiting the sunny and warm weather, as I'm sure everyone else in Manitoba is as well. Chris and I have gone on a little bit of a health kick to both try and lose our baby weight, so my challenge to all you blog readers...if you have any yummy, but healthy recipes that you would like to share with us, I will attempt to cook it and let you all know how it went. Key word is yummy though!!! I am determined to have my bikini body back by July! We'll see if I'm living in a dream world or not!!

I've posted a few pictures below. The bottom two are from our trip out to Portage last Sunday to visit my aunt and uncles new house. Its on a beautiful acreage. We were so lucky to have a nice sunny day to enjoy their sun room.

Fun Day in Deloraine!!

Well, yesterday we packed up the car and headed to Deloraine to see Great-Grandpa Schoonbaert. We met Grandma and Grandpa Potter, Auntie Carrie, Uncle Gord and cousins Ben and Ella there for a nice afternoon of family time. This was the first time that Grandpa Schoonbaert met Sari, so it was a really special day. We went for lunch when we got there and then headed back to the apartment for a nice afternoon visit. Even though it was a very rainy day, Ben and Chris managed to get outside and play in the trees! (see pictures below)

All in all, in was a great day, minus the rain. Sari was very good...she's becoming quite the little traveller! It was great to see Grandpa Schoonbaert. He looks great and is doing really well.

7 Weeks Old Already!!!

Well, I figured since I am the one at home with Sari all day, I should update our loyal readers on my wonderful days that revolve around my beautiful daughter!

I can't believe that Sari is 7 weeks old today. I just can't believe how the time flies. It honestly seems like yesterday that I had her, but yet my life before her is becoming more and more faint in my memory. Sari is growing like crazy and already eating us out of house and home! Right from the very beginning she has been such a good sleeper and content little baby...I am afraid to ever have a second child! Sari now sleeps anywhere from 5 to 8 hours a night with her bedtime slowly getting earlier. She has started to cat-nap during the day rather than having any real long naps, which is fine with me as long as she keeps sleeping at night! She has started smiling like crazy, which melts my heart every time that I see her beautiful grin. My favorite times with her are honestly in the middle of the night when she gets up to eat. She is always so happy to see me and smiles as soon as I pick her up from her crib. Again, my heart just melts! She likes to sit in her chair or on my lap leaning up against my knees smiling and talking to me with her very cute cooing noises. She has become so alert and aware of her surroundings, just taking everything in. I know that I am bias, but she is just so darn cute!! Sari is already a daddy's girl, and we have the t-shirt to prove it! I promise we'll get some pictures of her wearing it soon. Her little face just lights up when her daddy comes home from work.

Being a mother is nothing like I imagined...its better!! I feel so lucky to have Sari in my life. Just when I think I can't love her any more, I wake up the next morning and she looks at me and smiles and I feel my heart grow a little more to make room for more love for her.

Now that I know how to do this blog thing, I'll be sure to post pictures more often so that we don't get any nasty comments!! Here are some of the most recent for you all to enjoy!

Well, we got our house painted...that is the makeover. We were kind of hoping Ty would show up, knock down this house and build another one. Unfortunately, just the painter showed up so we did that instead.

Even Longer Time, No Blog!!!

Hey everyone!

Sorry it is taking so long between blogs. Busy, busy! I have noticed that a lot of you fellow bloggers are lollygagging with the updates as well, so maybe this post will give you the motivation to update too.

Everything is going really well.

Sheri's friends had a shower for her on Sunday at Grandma Brenda's house. Sari got a whole bunch of great gifts, including clothes, jewelry, books and toys. She is a spoiled little monkey.

Sari has been smiling so much lately. Sheri says she is happiest in the middle of the night when she is eating, just after pooping her pants while she is eating. Who knew the two activities could be that much more enjoyable together.

And....she is sleeping well. Last night, she actually slept from 10:30 p.m. until 6:30 THIS MORNING. I hope I didn't just jinx us. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a new sleep schedule that only gets longer for Mommy's sake. I can handle no sleep (from my experience as a partyer in a previous life), but I know waking up in the middle of the night every night, for an hour or two, has really taken it's toll on Mommy's sleep schedule. I feel for Mommy.
