Where is Spring???

I'm sure that everyone is asking the same question, but seriously, where is the warm weather. It seems like all we have had is cold for a year and a half. A cold winter, followed by a crappy summer, and then followed by a really cold winter. I certainly hope that this summer is nice and hot. We Manitobans deserve it. I know that it sure would be nice to go outside without having to bundle my daughter up.

Anyway, on to better topics of conversation. Only another 7 weeks until this new little one arrives! AHHHHH! I am starting to feel really unprepared! There is still so much to do around here and so much to do with Sari. I thought she would be potty trained and in a big girl bed by now, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Soon though...hopefully. We have her new bed and have ordered a mattress and have a game plan for the potty training, now we just have to get started. It better happen soon or this transition is going to be that much harder. The new baby's room is just about finished, so that will allow us to get started on Sari's room and get it set up by early next week. Chris, his dad and Gord got the spare bedroom built in the basement this weekend though, so that really is going to make things easier when the baby comes. Thank you so much to them for helping!

Chris and I decided to take a little family vacation over the Easter long weekend to Minneapolis to get away before another person enters our lives. We had planned a nice fun trip with plenty to do to keep Sari busy and occupied. However, at the last minute my parents offered to take her for the weekend to give us a weekend alone! After some thinking we both thought that would be a great idea and shipped her off to Brandon and started the journey to Minneapolis. What a great weekend!! The only thing I wish was that I wasn't 7 months pregnant when we went so that I could have walked a lot further and actually done some shopping for myself. Oh well. Chris has promised me a trip back when my baby body is gone and all the shopping I want. However, by that time we'll have 2 kids and no money for ourselves! Isn't that how it works??!! Sari had a great weekend getting spoiled by my parents. I was told that she only asked for us a few times. I am really happy she did so well, because that makes me way more confident sending her to the lake with them this summer for a weekend. (hint hint!)

This past weekend, like I said, Chris's parents came in for his dad to help Chris with the room in the basement. They brought along with them a trampoline for Sari. The pictures will speak for themselves, but needless to say, it went over very well! She loves it. She has been out there every day jumping and jumping. Probably the best gift they could ever get her!! Thank you to them! Take a look at the few pictures below of Sari expressing her appreciation!!

Sari's 2nd Birthday and Other Stuff!!

This is going to be a two part post, with the pictures following this post. Sorry, but there were too many pictures to make it all part of one post!

I know...it has been a LONG time. We talk all the time about posting, but just never seem to get around to it. So, because of our laziness, this it going to be a long one to update you all on what has been going on the past couple of months!

I'll start with the house. The kitchen is pretty much 100% done, which is SOOOO nice! We love our kitchen and are quite proud of how it turned out. Hopefully before the new baby arrives we will be able to have the family room done as well. After the long weekend we will be starting on the kids rooms and will hopefully have those done within a couple of weeks of starting. We are just tackling things one room at a time. We definitely have no desire to have the stress of renovating that we did in our last house!

Sari is doing really well. We still can't believe that our little baby is 2 now! Where does the time go?! Soon we'll be a family of 4 and then time will really fly! Sari is really starting to look like a toddler. Her hair is really filling in and she is getting so tall! I am now going to take the time to brag about how smart she is! As most of you know, she is a little chatter box! She is really starting to repeat pretty much everything that we say, which is a little dangerous some times! We are becoming more and more aware of what comes out of our mouths! She is stringing little sentences together. Some examples: "how doin'?"; "where did you go?"; "Wicki, come come". That's all that I can think of right now, but I know that there are many more words that she puts together. Sari is also really obsessed with numbers and counting. She counts everything! She can count to 15 and recognizes all the numbers between 1 and 10. Hmmm, what else is there?? We are working on her alphabet as well. She loves to sing the ABC's and does recognize some letters, but only a few. I think that's it in the bragging department!! :) Sari is definitely starting to have a mind of her own and really likes to test the limits right now. I find it quite amusing and am trying really hard to stay on top of things and not laugh because we are working really hard to have a well behaved child! I don't know why people call it the 'terrible two's', I quite like this age!

Ok, on to the birthday party!! We had her party last Saturday and celebrated as a family on her actual birthday, which was this past Monday. Sari had a blast at her party! First I am going to back track a little and start with the pre-party excitement. My parents came in Thursday night and stayed until after the party on Saturday. Their dog, Abby, who is a 4 lb. Maltese decided in the middle of the night to eat an ear plug. This wasn't figured out until probably an hour before the party when they finally took her to an emergency animal clinic and had an X-ray done. Needless to say Abby had emergency surgery and is now as good as new! Such a trooper! By the time mom and dad got back to our house, everyone had arrived for the party. It was filled with screaming kids, presents, cake and a whole lot of fun! Like I said before, Sari had a blast. Friends of ours, Nicole, Derrick and their kids, Elle and Macy spent the night here, which made the fun and celebration last until Sunday night. Macy and Sari are just 4-1/2 months apart and the best of friends. It was so cute watching them play together and interact with each other. They would be sitting at the table having a conversation that only they could understand and then each would start laughing, like one of them said a joke or something. Elle, their oldest, was such a good girl and played so well with the younger two. Nic, Elle and I went shopping on Sunday and she was SOOOO good. I can only hope that Sari is that well behaved when she is 5. They ended up staying over on Sunday in a hotel, so after a nice dinner out, we took the kids back to the hotel to go swimming before we parted ways. As you will see in the pictures, Sari really enjoyed herself. All in all it was a great weekend. We had such a good time at the party and such a great weekend with our friends.

Monday, Sari's actual birthday, I had to work. Chris volunteered to drive Abby back to Brandon for my mom and dad, so he and Sari made their trek to Brandon for a quick trip. They were home in time to pick me up from work and have a simple birthday dinner. We opened presents with Sari that morning before I went to work. I just love birthdays and have decided that each of my children should take after their mother and try and stretch the birthday celebration a week instead of being just one day! :)

Now we are just looking forward to, and getting ready for the new arrival that will be coming in June! I can't believe how close it is. We are planning a trip to Minneapolis over the Easter long weekend to get away one last time before the baby comes. We are really looking forward to it.

Oh, I almost forgot...I would like to welcome the newest addition to the Crowe family! Berk and Christy had a baby girl on the 31st of March weighing in at 9 lb. 6 oz., the exact same weight as Sari! Her name is Edan Jolaine...beautiful name! We are very happy for them and can hardly wait to meet her!

My Family!

Hi Everyone.

Sheri here...I know it has been a while since I have posted, so I thought while Sari was wrapped up in 'Horton Hears A Who', I would take the time to update everyone on our life.

Life here in Winnipeg has been plugging along. We have just had our new kitchen installed and I am patiently waiting for our new appliances to get here this morning...very exciting! The counter top is due to come in two weeks time. By then hopefully the rest of the kitchen will be finished and we will take pictures and post them to show you the wonderful results! We are very much in love with our new kitchen and are excited to tackle the rest of the house in the near future!

Sari has started Gymkids, which is a small gymnastics centre that is geared towards kids activities. We have had two classes so far. She really loves it. She isn't so thrilled about the circle time at the beginning of the class, but now is getting involved in the circle time at the end of the class! There is another little girl in the class, who is actually the same age as Sari, who isn't so thrilled about circle time either, so her mother and I have bonded in the embarrassment that we feel when our children throw tantrums with everyone listening! Sari is really starting to grow up...temper tantrums and all!! She definitely becoming a little person of her own! I just wish that the weather would warm up because she really needs to get outside and play. I'm sure everyone is wishing that though.

Merry HO HO!!!!!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry it's been so long. We've been so busy the last while (as have most people I'm sure) with unpacking, Christmas, etc., it has been quite tough to blog. I hope this blog finds everyone healthy and happy.


Our little girl is growing up. She's not speaking in full sentences yet...actually she is but we can only understand one or two words in the sentence. She knows exactly what she is saying. She can say most of the popular animals and do their sounds. She can count to three but leaves out one!!!!!!!! She knows the names of most of the characters on her favorite movies....Wall-E, Madagascar, Finding Nemo, etc. She loves "Wicky" and loves to torment him even more. And she just can't seem to get of the Christmas Tree. She sneaks into the living room without us knowing and just stands there staring at it...if we're lucky. Most of the time, we walk in to her touching some light or trying to pull off some ornament and it scares the heck out of her. It is quite funny actually.

Sorry...We have been very busy (maybe a little lazy too). This blog has been a long time coming and I know there are more than a few people who have been waiting patiently to hear news from Sari's World.

For those of you who haven't heard, we bought a house. Yes, that is correct. We haven't even been in our apartment for 2 months and we're moving out. We take possession of our new house in Fort Richmond this Thursday. There are a few things we are going to change but it won't be anything like our last house (hopefully). The house is exactly what we were looking for. I'll post pictures after we move in.

Sari is turning into such an amazing little person. She understands everything that we say, even though she may not always acknowledge it. Whenever we ask her anything, her response is ALWAYS "No"! It is hilarious. She has learned quite a few new words...Grampa, Gramma, Please and a few others (I can't quite remember at the moment).

I have posted a funny video and a few pictures we have taken over the past month and a half. Sari had a good time Trick or Treating this year. Sheri took her to Brandon because I was working and Sari had a blast going door to door, getting free candy, saying "Thank you" and "Bye, Bye" and then dragging her candy bag to the next house. We have video of it but I need to get a special cable to get that one on the blog. I'll make sure I post it when I can.

Hello loyal blog readers. We are so sorry that this post has taken so long for us to do. It has been a hectic few months around here, but it has all been worth it. For all of you that haven't heard yet, our house sold, after being on the market only 1 day!! We are so blessed! We got a great offer and accepted it right away. They officially get possession of our house on October 1st. This past weekend we all went into Winnipeg to look for apartments and found one that suited us perfectly. It only took a day...again...blessed. So, it looks like we are going to be making our move to Winnipeg in just 3 weeks. I have to be honest and say that I have been a little emotional about the whole thing since we got home Friday night. It is just going to be really hard leaving this beautiful house we live in that we literally poured our blood, sweat and tears into. I think that it has finally hit me that we are not only moving, but moving away from Brandon. I can't say that I am overly happy about it all, but I know that this is going to be a great move for us in the future. We are scheduled to get possession of our lot in La Salle as of October 1st as well, but it may be prolonged a little bit. We are hoping that it doesn't get put off too long, as we would really like to move out there as soon as possible, and we already know that it will take at least 5 months to build our house. I guess that all we can do is hope and pray for the best. That is what we have been doing all along and it has seemed to work so far!

The summer really has gone by quite quickly. I guess because we were working 24/7 for half of it. I can't believe that September is already here. We realize that we haven't spent as much time together as we would have liked this summer, so we are looking forward to a trip out to Calgary and maybe a few other family outings together.

Sari is getting to be such a little toddler. She really is growing up quickly. More and more words are being formed in her vocabulary every day. She understands everything we say and ask her, even if she pretends not too! Mommy knows better than that! She is also learning the sounds that some animals make and where the features on her face are. She does 'nose' really well, but takes a little encouraging for the rest of the face. She loves putting things on her head, especially underwear (clean of course!), buckets, shirts, and pretty much anything else that will fit. We have some great pictures below of her with some head gear! We took her to Playtime, which is a fantastic play center here in Brandon, one afternoon when we didn't have anything to do on the house. She LOVED it! I thought that she would be a little intimidated by the very large play structure that they have there, but she wasn't deterred at all. She and Chris climbed through the whole thing over and over again. She especially loved the tunnels! The play structure is great, because there is no way that any kids of any size could fall off any part of it and take a nasty tumble to the ground. I highly recommend that place to any one who has kids!

I don't think that there is a whole lot else to report. This post doesn't seem to be very long for the amount that has gone on the past 2 months. Oh well. I have posted quite a few pictures of the little munchkin for you all to see. We will keep you all updated on how the move goes and how we are settling into Winnipeg. Enjoy the pictures!
